Israel and Lebanon Agree to 10-Day Ceasefire<\/h2>\n

Following U.S.-brokered talks, Israel and Lebanon have entered a 10-day ceasefire after weeks of intense fighting involving Hezbollah that resulted in nearly 2,200 deaths in Lebanon. Celebrations erupted across Lebanon as the truce took effect, though Israel has stated it will maintain its military positions in southern Lebanon and that disarming Hezbollah remains a key objective. Reports indicate some violations with continued artillery incidents, but the ceasefire is largely holding, allowing displaced families to attempt returns to their homes. This development removes a major obstacle to broader regional peace efforts.<\/p>\n
